Thousands gathered in Downtown Indianapolis on Saturday to protest the passage this week of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
The protesters chanted and held indicators as they marched from Monument Circle to the Indiana Statehouse to express their displeasure at Gov. Mike Pence's signing of the religious freedom legislation on Thursday.
"No hate in our state," "Whose State? Our State!" and "Repair the bill" had been some of the chants becoming heard in the background at the rally.
An unidentified State Police trooper estimated that as a lot of as 3,000 had been in attendance at the height of the rally,
Rally organizers also encouraged additional people today to register to vote to make their voices heard.
Pence on Thursday signed Senate Bill 101, also identified as RFRA, unleashing a storm of criticism from inside and outside of the state from folks who assume the bill could lead to discrimination from organization owners who don't want to serve gay or similar-sex shoppers.

Business enterprise leaders also have criticized the bill, saying that it provides the state a negative image and will make it harder to recruit best talent to Indiana.
On Saturday, Angie's List CEO Bill Oesterle mentioned he will cancel the company's plans for a $40 million expansion of its Eastside headquarters because of his opposition to RFRA.
Quickly right after Pence signed the bill, Salesforce.com founder and CEO Marc Benioff announced on Twitter that he would no longer send staff or customers to Indiana.
Pence and other people have defended the bill as necessary to protect enterprise owners who don't want to be forced to act against their religious beliefs.
