A school bus with nine elementary school students plowed into a house in Blue Bell, Pa., Tuesday morning, police said.
No one onboard was injured when the bus veered off the road and slammed into the house at about 7:45 a.m., according to Whitpain Township police.
The driver, a 58-year-old male, was transporting students to the Saint Helena School, a local private Catholic school.
The bus instead ended up with its front half inside the spacious house on the 100 block of Windmere Drive, photos show.
Students and the driver escaped the bus through the rear emergency exit into the house’s front yard, police said.
A resident of the now-wrecked house was on the second floor at the time of the crash and was not injured, police said.
The driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and the children were transported to Saint Helena and checked out by the school nurse.
Authorities said they are still investigating how the bus crash occurred.
