ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Officials say there was no argument or incident that sparked a 12-year-old to fatally shoot his 6-year-old brother, wound his 16-year-old brother, and then turn the gun on himself.

According to a statement Thursday the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Kevin Pimentel was making dinner in the family's Pasco County home on March 25 and asked his older brother, Trevor, to help.

Trevor Pimentel told detectives that Kevin shot Brady in Brady's room.

The gun was kept on the top shelf in a closet area of the family's mobile home. The boys' mother was working at the time of the shooting.

On Wednesday, the family held a joint funeral for Brady and Kevin.
