Students, parents and teachers are rallying at the State Capitol for school choice.
Today's rally in Austin wraps up a week of events held across the country. After the rally, people went inside to make sure lawmakers could hear what they want.
Buses dropped students and parents off from all over the state and here in Austin.
Organizers say it was just one of 11,000 events across the country this week.
2,500 people filed in around the south steps to hear speakers which included Land Commissioner and former teacher George P. Bush, parents and students.
The rally is an effort to expand public and private school choice options including charter schools and expanding voucher programs.
Organizers feel the momentum is picking up across the country.
FOX 7's Ann Wyatt Little is at the Capitol and will have more on this story on the FOX 7 News Edge at 5.
